Platform Engineer - Linux at Equifax is a discipline that combines Operating System, Cloud, and Automation Engineering capabilities to create compute platform solutions that deliver stability, performance, compliance, and security to every compute cycle consumed at Equifax
As a Linux Platform Engineer you will be responsible for Linux server solutions both in the cloud and on-prem. You will help create solutions to complex problems, build automation that helps drive Equifax forward, and troubleshoot problems in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

What you’ll do
Work in an infrastructure development and support environment contributing to solutions that deliver excellence in stability, compliance, security, and cost
Provide expert knowledge and capability for the Linux operating system (RHEL with some Ubuntu)
Assist with the creation of new tools and scripts for auto-remediation of incidents and changes
Monitor and support systems and compute applications
Build and maintain automation system solutions
Respond to, and support, incidents and requests
Contribute to automation/cost saving abilities
Implement governance and compliance including tracking, monitoring, and hardening
Support customers (internal and external) with their compute needs
What experience you need
A bachelor's degree in project management, or a similar field.
A minimum of 2 to 4 year's experience as a Systems Administrator, Automation Engineer, or a similar role.
Experience with SAN and NAS storage connected servers
Good communication skills to present the data and metrics to the stakeholders
Ability to analyze a range of complex data and make decisions based on analytical findings.
Strong Operating System skills, such as patching, domain based authentication, role based authorization, and monitoring
Good automation and scripting skills (such as Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins)
Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
