The role of the Business Operations organization is to be the production readiness steward for Mastercard products. As a Business Operations SRE, we are responsible for ensuring that our platform is stable, healthy, and built to scale. We break down barriers to run our products by fostering developer-run ownership and empowering teams to build resilient, observable, and testable systems. We support our developers early in the application lifecycle through operational design, automation, monitoring, and capacity planning—ensuring we deliver fault-tolerant, production-ready products from day one.
This role expands the traditional SRE scope by embedding a quality mindset directly into our operational practices. You will contribute to developing robust test strategies, scalable test automation frameworks, and continuous validation pipelines—ensuring high reliability and seamless user experiences. By tightly coupling operational readiness with software quality, you’ll help teams reduce time-to-detect, prevent incidents before they occur, and maintain confidence in every release.
We support daily operations with a hyper-focus on triage, root cause analysis, and understanding the business impact of our products, followed by blameless post-mortems and process improvements. We engage proactively in the development lifecycle to identify risks early and build in guardrails that prevent downtime and degrade gracefully. Our work spans incident management, change enablement, and compliance oversight, ensuring operational excellence and resilience across environments.
Ultimately, the role of Business Operations is to align Product and Customer Focused priorities with Operational and Quality needs by providing continuous feedback throughout the lifecycle—delivering reliable, performant, and secure systems that customers trust.

Key Responsibilities
As a BizOps Engineer II with QA/testing focus, you will:
• Ensure application reliability, availability, and scalability through proactive monitoring, automation, and system design.
• Support day-to-day production operations, incident triage, and root cause analysis.
• Embed operational readiness into the software development lifecycle by collaborating closely with development teams.
• Lead efforts to define and implement test strategies including integration, regression, and acceptance testing.
• Build and maintain test automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in defining quality standards and engineering practices to improve overall platform performance and resilience.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure test coverage aligns with system reliability goals and customer experience.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to detect anomalies and performance regressions early.
• Serve as a quality advocate and mentor, helping teams adopt modern testing tools and methodologies.
• Champion continuous improvement and agile operational practices.

Essential Skills & Experience
We’re looking for individuals with a blend of systems thinking, engineering rigor, and quality mindset. Ideal candidates will have:
• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in production support, SRE, or QA/test automation roles.
• Hands-on experience and proficiency in Python and Java/JVM-based systems.
• Experience with testing tools such as JUnit, TestNG, Postman, Selenium, JMeter.
• Proven ability to build automated test suites from scratch and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo).
• Exposure to cloud-native architectures and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace).
• Strong debugging skills including experience with stack traces, heap/thread dumps, and performance analysis.
• Experience working in Agile teams and fast-paced environments with a focus on continuous delivery.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first approach.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in performance engineering and tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Proficiency with version control and artifact management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory).
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD workflows with a focus on automation and testing.
• Familiarity with service virtualization and mocking tools for integration testing.
• Understanding of networking concepts, HTTP stack, caching strategies, and load balancing.
