What you will do
Lead and manage a Platform Engineering team of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with onsite counterparts and support teams for alignment on platform roadmap, architecture and technology delivery.
Build and maintain core platform components, including GCP native and third party services.
You will be working actively on Infrastructure as Code, using CloudFormation, Terraform, or other tools, and use CICD Workflow tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
You will be working on microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.
Lead the team for automating cloud native technologies (on GCP), deploying applications and provisioning infrastructure.
Implement and maintain robust SRE practices to ensure high availability, low latency and fault tolerance. Monitor platform health, troubleshoot incidents, and escalate critical issues as needed.
What experience you need
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, devops, cloud operations, or a similar role.
Proven experience in managing and leading a team of DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
Strong understanding of GCP services, including Vertex AI, MLOps, Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Big Query, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.
Familiarity with Linux operating systems and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Go).
System administration skills, including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows using Terraform, Chef, Ansible and/or containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
What could set you apart
Source code control management systems (e.g. SVN/Git, Subversion) and build tools like Maven
Experience in languages such as Python, Bash, Go, Java, JavaScript and/or node.js
Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, security and databases such as Big Data, Postgres, Oracle, MySQL
Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Kafka and/or Hadoop or NoSQL
Atlassian tooling (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket)
Cloud certification in GCP or AWS.
